Hummingbird Spiritual Meaning and Symbolism

1 Peter 2:2

"Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk,

that by it you may grow up into salvation"

Just as hummingbirds draw nectar from the heaven's creation of flowers,

so do we long for the nectar of divine communication.

Do Hummingbirds carry a message from Heaven?

Many cultures throughout time do believe hummingbirds are special messengers of glad tidings.

But what if they are capable of more than simply being a symbol in nature representing joy?

I can truly say with a resounding yes that hummingbirds are without a doubt Heaven’s messengers, and I can also easily attest how Heaven uses hummingbirds to communicate directly with us.

Hummingbird is symbolic of joy and happiness, and even the most skeptical of people can witness the hummingbird's playful nature that brings a smile and a noticeable lift in our step. Hummingbird is curious, and playful spreading lightness of heart, and a sense of jubilation.

When Hummingbird crosses your path, it may be asking you to "lift your thoughts" away from negative ones and to do it quickly! Observe the hummingbird and become more playful and open hearted in all of your endeavors. Hummingbird asks us to be child like and curious of the simplest of things in life. If you have been engaging in negative conversation or low energy situations, Hummingbird asks you to lift up your heart to Heaven to heal and release your burdens.

In a kind of lightning like speed, the hummingbird can be perched on a delicate branch and then in the next moment, she will be zooming and humming by leaving you in a stupor of joyful awe.

Hummingbirds can also fly at high speeds traveling great distances. The maneuver in many directions moving up, down, and backwards, which reminds us that we are capable of quickly shifting to a higher perspective and alternate attitude of joy and happiness, no matter what the mirror of our life is currently displaying.

Hummingbird is the only bird that hovers. Which is symbolic of pausing and being objective and taking the role of the observer in the drama of your life. As Hummingbird hums its way into your day, take heed and physically hum while you do your mundane tasks such as the dishes or taking the trash out. Notice the colors of flowers and their kind and wonderful aroma. Hummingbird asks you to take time to nurture yourself, for example you can hum a friendly tune to yourself sending love to your mind, body and spirit on behalf of Hummingbird. Meditate on joy by walking or sitting in nature with flowers about you.

The hummingbird weighs less than a penny, which symbolizes “lightening our load” up a bit, and releasing our weighted mind set with what no longer serves us. Choose to enjoy the “sweet nectar” of life, and remember to grasp that lovely moment of light- hearted child play, instead of passing it up to look at your email or text.

Hummingbird is also aggressively territorial, and it may represent you needing to draw strong boundaries (quickly) to “chase away” negative energy around you, or to protect a loved one by brilliantly flying to the rescue with a happy heart that spreads joy on the situation.

Besides asking you to stay open and playful, Hummingbird ask you to take on new and sudden changes in direction with curiosity and hope. This beautiful creator designed perfectly by Heaven gives you the humming message that you are soon to experience an immediate awareness that leads to joy. Expect a Miracle.
